Expired Coupons

What should you do with those expired coupons? Donate them of course! There is a program that accepts expired coupons (up to 2 months past expiration date) to give to military families living on base overseas. I hate throwing away a coupon and even ones I know I won't use. They accept 'manufacturer' coupons only which are the coupons from the Sunday paper or printed from the internet just not ones that are store specific.

All you do is go to http://www.ocpnet.org/ and adopt a military base and mail in your coupons. I generally do it once a month. They prefer you to send it Priority Mail but you don't have to. I just see it as a way to help those who don't have access to the savings that we have access to. You'll need to separate the coupons into 'food' and 'non-food'. You can just put them into two separate ziploc bags and then mark them. They prefer for you to separate it because this is organized by volunteers. The families can use the coupons up to 6 months past the expiration date. However, if you send coupons that not separated and the volunteers have to do it, they may not have enough time to get them sorted and out to the families.

If you feel like this is too time consuming for you, you can always send the coupons to me and I'll do it for you! Just send me an email at bbrumett@hotmail.com.
